SSI Waves, Tides and Currents Specialty Course

Than the SSI Waves, Tides and Currents Specialty course is the way to go for you, as this program will teach you the adequate techniques for this kind of diving. Whether you’re diving in a current in South Australia or at a top dive spot on a holiday, any ambitious diver should understand and know how to handle water movements. This course will teach you how to effectively move in a current, how to determine the strength of a current and how to plan a dive accordingly. You will also learn about the different equipment for waves, tides and currents and the different procedures for boat and shore dives in regard to these water movements!


Course Fee:

AUD$395.- A $100 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due on the first day.


Prerequisites:

Open Water Diver (or Junior Open Water Diver) certification and a current diving medical (within the last 12 months).


Inclusions:

– All air fills
– All learning materials (manuals, slates, etc.)
– Instruction
– Specialty certification card
– Two open water dives


Equipment Requirements:

Full SCUBA Gear*


 
Recommended:

Finger Spool, Gloves and Whistle or Surface Marker Bouy (SMB).

* Please note that it is recommended that you use your own equipment when participating in this course. Snorkel Safari Adelaide’s friendly shop and dive team members are happy to assist you in choosing your equipment. However, if you would rather hire your equipment, you can do so at a cost of $50.00 for the duration of the course.
